In March 2016 we co-founded LQA Funds, a Latin American based private equity manager and advisor with offices throughout the region. For this joint venture, Lakestone provided seed capital, general management, human resources and business guidance, including access to global strategic partners.
In December 2016 we partnered with Aberdeen Standard Investments, a leading global asset manager, to develop and increase infrastructure equity assets under management in Latin America.
By the end of 2017 the fund vehicle to implement the strategy was initiated. At present, the investment period and execution of equity allocations in infrastructure projects is successfully ongoing.
Investments
Lakestone is an investor in the Andean Social Infrastructure Fund I LP, one of the first dedicated private equity infrastructure funds in the Andean region, alongside large global institutional investors, such as pension funds, endowments and insurance groups.
The fund targets social and transportation infrastructure investments under a Public-Private Partnership agreement in projects such as hospitals, schools, public buildings, roads and railways, in Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.
